When you look at your life, the greatest happinesses are family happinesses. ~Joyce Brothers

Since Joe has been saving his yearly vacation time from work for when the baby arrives in October, or more likely November, he has only had a few days off this summer.  Here are some pics from our latest make the most of the extended weekend!  Enjoy!

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine. ~Anthony J. D'Angelo, The College Blue Book

I've photographed "A" and Mommy and Daddy several times, but always in my studio.  I was excited to see 2 year old "A" exploring someplace new and to document that.  You can never see how a child lights up at something new too many times.

It was a hot July evening and the sun was bright, but it really doesn't get any better than the warm light shining through blonde hair at 7:30pm in the summer.  I love it!

Amie and Pieter, your family is wonderful and perfect - and quite honestly a lot of fun!  Enjoy a few of my faves

Every child begins the world again.... ~Henry David Thoreau

This little boy is gorgeous.  six months old, happy as can be, and couldn't be more adorable.  It was a hot day, mid-morning and little G was feeling the heat too.  Into the tub he went.  It was one of the cutest things I've ever seen.  We put him in the grass, dressed him in his outfit and took him to the park.

Crystal and Dave,  your family is beautiful!  Enjoy every moment with your little G!

“To be happy in this world, first you need a cell phone and then you need an airplane. Then you're truly wireless.” Ted Turner

Like every other parent in the world, I take pictures with my cell phone.  You'd think being a photographer that I have my DSLR camera ready at all times, but that's just not the case.  Life with 2 toddlers is too busy - I have enough bags to carry around.  So when they do something cute, or messy, or silly - out comes my cell phone.  It's not a good camera, but just like all the other busy moms out there, I have a lot of horrible photographs of my adorable children.  I'm just like everyone else.  Here are a few of my favourite cell phone shots.

The Rojas girls arrived for their Tutus and Sundresses session ready to twirl.  They have fantastic bubbly personalities.  Four year old "A" had a mind of her own - like every strong woman should - and began instructing me on photos to take and ideas she had.  I love this.  I think it's so important to involve the little people in the decisions when I'm on my shoots.  Little "R" was slightly more timid, but she sweetly sat and smiled for me.  Her eyes are amazing and I loved the way she looked right into my lens!

Michelle, your girls are wonderful.  They clearly take after their mom in so many ways.  Hope you enjoy a few of my favourites.

I hadn't seen Melissa since Audrey was a baby - and now shy, petite, adorable Audrey is almost 3.  Since I knew she would be shy, I commented on her amazing nail polish.  She was proud to tell me she had painted her toes all by herself.  Audrey took my hand and we chose a spot for her to get some pictures taken.  She was timid, but oh-so cute.

Audrey has beautiful brown eyes.  They looked right into my lens and down to my soul.  As she started to become more comfortable and outgoing with the whole situation, she began to move around and twirl in her adorable My Little Sweet Pea Boutique Tutu.

Her 6 month old sister, Corina was happy to sit or lie down on a blanket and smile for me.  She too has these dark brown eyes that stare right at you.  Gorgeous girls!

Melissa, your girls are absolutely adorable.  I really just wanted to squish them.  Here are a few of my favourites from their Tutus and Sundresses session.

"Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair."~ Khalil Gibran

For some reason, I love taking pictures of feet.  Especially the feet of little people.  I have no idea why.  But I just love those images.  Their cute toes, snazzy socks, or perfect little shoes.  I love their feet when they are jumping, sitting or grabbing their toes.  There's just something about their feet that says so much about them...I don't know exactly what it is.  Here are a few of my favourite feet!

"Truly wonderful the mind of a child is." ~YODA

I had been scheduled to photograph Miranda and her baby bump in 2009, when 3 days before the session, she unexpectedly went into labour - several weeks early.  A beautiful baby girl, Victoria was born.  Last week when I arrived at Miranda and Colin's beautiful home to photograph her 2nd pregnancy, she informed me that she was possibly having contractions - again several weeks early.  I'm not going to lie...it made me nervous.

Miranda, I think maybe photo shoots bring on labour for you?  or is it just me?  All joking aside, it was an amazing photo session, with Victoria running around and Colin flipping her into the air.  I loved seeing your family again and chatting with you.  Good luck with everything.  You looked beautiful-as usual.  Please enjoy a few of my favourites!
